Do you know what happens to an injured horse who cannot race anymore at the Turf Club?
Do you know what happens to an old, dying horse who has outran its glorious days?
They are axed into chunky parts and fed to the tigers and lions in the zoo!
Or I was told, their parts thrown into the air during feeding time, like some worthless bait!
If you are still reading this post without any emotion at this, you are probably one of those waiting to be fed in the zoo!
HOW CAN YOUR HEART NOT FEEL ANYTHING TOWARDS THIS?
Horses are like the next most humane animal after the dogs!
So...you can guessed how violently I reacted when this was the lunch topic that Nino and Jonathan brought up yesterday.
I was then made to listen on as Estee explained that's how food chains are formed.
Yes, I heard her but my heart cannot accept it.
"How can they do this! Horses are pets!" Nino exclaimed and I totally agree!
(If you have any doubt on this statement, read this! The Humane Society of the United States
Horses are categorised alongside with rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and dogs, and that qualify them as pets!)
Everyone then went on to argue on the science of food chain which I really don't want to know much about anymore.
And as they argued on whether a food chain is a cycle or pyramid chart, I'd like to do Nino some justice here that he was right, a food chain CAN be plotted in a pyramid.
Here you go.
