Today's the day of Mike's exam, he's sitting for 2 papers from 9am to 5pm and had left the house before I woke up.
I planned to give him a little surprise tonight, in celebration that the stress over his exam is finally over - I'm cooking Japanese Curry Pasta for him.
First up, stock up at the supermarket.
I bought so much stuff (for dinner ingredients as well as other household stuff) and the whole haul was so heavy on my walk back home. On a few occasions, I thought my arms were gonna give up on me.
By the time I reached home, my hands were trembling.
See how red my hand was.
While letting my hands rest before I unpack, my little 'auditor' started to check out what I've bought.
Can you see her 'yoda' ears peeking out from the plastic bag.
"What else is there?"
Pasta was cooked first.
I made a 3-pax portion - me, Mike and of course, Cheery.
Just that hers was not pasta with curry cos' curry is bad for her. I mixed pasta with her canned venison.
My chicken curry! All boiling and smelling good.
I completed cooking at exactly 6pm, thinking Mike would be home any minute, only to realise that I had remembered his schedule wrongly. His paper ends 6.30pm.
Oh well, so I have to wait a while more for him to come home.
"What time is Daddy coming back, Mommy?"
And we waited together.
Finally, he got home at close to 8pm.
He loved the meal!
And like any world famous chef, I was beaming with joy when he kept praising me on the food.
At least I didn't get busy for nothing.
