You Humble Me

I read in Spamy’s blog that her friend’s dog passed away recently and inevitably, I started to envision the eventual day that Cheery will leave me, and felt my heart tighten into a million knots.

On a spur, I’ve written a simple poetry, for my girl.

‘Searching without expectations,
The adorable faces and innocent eyes,
One by one without affinity,
Until I met you.

With eyes in awe,
You looked at me,
A wave of your paw,
And you stole my heart.

My world is big and packed,
With friends, family and love,
Yet I never felt complete,
Until I had you.

With a wag of your tail,
You receive me,
Your way of telling me,
I am your world.

You never fail to surprise,
And I’m always in wonder,
What thoughts swim in your little head,
I wish I know.

Every time you’re in pain,
I hurt and weep,
I’d give up everything,
Just to have you healed.

Cheery, my love and joy,
Through you I’ve learned,
The existence of unconditional love,
And the greatness of devotion.

YOU humble me.’
